The era of Time Travel via entertainment

Recently, I came across a German web-series “Dark". It’s an eerie, mysterious , sci-fi and a very engaging series. It makes you wonder, if everything happening in life , is it connected to something or just happening for the sake of happening. The usage of time travel is unlike from the stuff we have watched in past. The phrase — “The question is not where, or who, or how - the question is WHEN” , shows that everything is Connected.

I have seen/heard a lot of time travelers stories, but this series is different. Particularly the way the stories of each character is shown and linked. Every character has been given a fair time on screen and their stories are so so engrossing.

I had an experience of watching an Indian movie, somewhat related to time travel, correcting the past so that the present is better , well, the movie was called “Action Replay". It stared Akshay Kumar, Aishwarya Rai, and Aditya Roy Kapur. Such a great ensemble, right! ( you can laugh, coz I am laughing too!) The movie is bizzare. God help those who have watched it, my special applause to them.

The way it shows time travel and the connection of all the characters is totally absurd. Why was this movie was made ,is still a question to me always.

The topic of time travel is always fascinating. What Indian filmmakers need to do before making such a movie, story telling is to do proper RESEARCH. They have the responsibility of showing millions the story which would be running on public’s money.

Now, back to the series Dark, the most amazing thing of this is the story telling. The concept is one thing and revolving the story around it is another. The beauty of series lies in its story telling and how later the parts, characters are all interlinked and related. The word “mind blowing” was surely invented for this series. You would understand the meaning of this word better once you have watched this series!

We , as cinema lovers, need to understand that not every movie is about a boy and a girl love story, or somebody’s life (biopics). What the audiences is looking for is something innovative, which will make them take away from the cinema they had watched.

Time travel, sci-fi, robotics, galaxy,universe are such stupendous, fascinating topics /themes but to build a story around it, one need to go through a thorough research and need to dig deep the interest of audiences, for one can’t really travel through time to correct their past.
